I am truly honored to continue my journey in D2 by joining the Sand Creek International School family! I was born and raised in Illinois where I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University. My educational journey began by teaching Kindergarten and first grade for seven years before moving to Colorado where I joined the D2 family at Wildflower Elementary. While at WES, I taught third grade for six years before moving into the building instructional coach position for two years. I have also worked with fourth and fifth graders during summer school, as well as grades K-5 as a 2019 Summer School Coordinator. Through being a mentor teacher and collaborating with other district staff while serving on committees, I discovered my passion for leadership. In the spring of 2019, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. In the 2021-2022 school year, I became a panther cub at Stratton Meadows Elementary where I began my leadership role as the Assistant Principal for two years. When not in the classroom, I can often be found on the track at Sierra High School where I have loved coaching Track & Field for nine years.

Outside of work I enjoy running, hiking, and spending time with my husband and our dogs. Our black Labrador, Lucy, and two French Bulldogs, Jewel and Queenie, keep us busy and fully entertained! I am looking forward to this new adventure as I join in the dedication to continued growth and building lasting relationships at SCIS!

I am very excited to be a part of the Sand Creek family and a school that is truly centered around student success. The 2023/24 school year will be my 16th year working in Harrison School District 2 and my 13th year working in K-8 schools, both as a teacher and an administrator. I am a firm believer that the K-8 model is absolutely best for families, students, and teachers alike.

Much of my free time is spent enjoying outdoor activities with my family and Golden Retriever puppy, Seamus.
